Strength Testing

Objective strength and movement testing with VALD technology to guide your rehab and track real progress.

Taking the guesswork out of rehabilitation

At Bodytherapy, we're always looking for ways to improve how we assess, treat and support our patients so they can reach their full potential. That's why we now use VALD performance testing technology in the clinic.

We believe rehabilitation should be individualised, measurable and focused on your goals. Rather than relying only on how a movement looks or feels, we now have objective data that allows us to:

  • Identify weaknesses: understand exactly which muscle groups need attention.

  • Measure imbalances: compare strength between the left and right sides of your body.

  • Track progress: see how your strength and movement improve throughout rehab.

  • Personalise treatment: use objective information to guide exercise selection and progression.

  • Support recovery: make informed decisions about returning to exercise, work or sport.

Better information. More targeted rehabilitation. Measurable progress.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a long-term condition or looking to improve your physical performance, a VALD assessment gives you valuable insight into your strength, movement and recovery.

VALD ForceFrame: measuring strength with precision

The VALD ForceFrame is an advanced strength-testing system that lets our physiotherapists accurately measure how much force different muscle groups can produce. It's fast and intuitive, and it shows muscle weaknesses, differences between your left and right sides, and the areas that may need extra rehabilitation.

With measurable results, we can tailor your treatment programme, track improvements and make better-informed decisions about your recovery.

Who can benefit?

  • Sports injuries: assessing strength after muscle strains, ligament injuries and other sporting injuries.

  • Post-surgery rehabilitation: monitoring strength recovery after procedures such as ACL reconstruction.

  • Hip, knee and shoulder problems: identifying muscle weaknesses that may be reducing function.

  • Return to sport: checking strength and highlighting areas that need more work before you return to activity.

  • Injury prevention and performance: spotting strength differences and guiding targeted training so injuries don't happen in the first place.

VALD DynaMo: understanding strength and movement

The VALD DynaMo is a handheld device that accurately measures muscle strength and joint range of movement. It can be used across the whole body, including the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.

DynaMo gives immediate results, helping us identify weaknesses, assess movement limitations and track improvements over time. That means we monitor your progress using real measurements rather than estimates alone.

Who can benefit?

  • Everyday aches and pains: assessing strength and movement limitations linked to common conditions.

  • Shoulder and rotator cuff injuries: measuring muscle strength and monitoring recovery.

  • Tendon problems: assessing strength in conditions such as Achilles tendinopathy and tennis elbow.

  • Post-injury rehabilitation: tracking improvements after muscle, tendon and joint injuries.

  • Active individuals and athletes: identifying strength deficits and range-of-motion restrictions, and monitoring physical development.
